Letter re Lough Keel camp June 2017
Please find information below about our overnight camp to Lough Keel, Boyle:
Date: Friday, 9th – Sunday, 11th June 2017
Times: Meet at 8pm, in Lough Keel Scout campsite (please note: this is a different place to Lough Key Forest Park! – directions below).
Please drop off at picnic bench just inside entrance of campsite
Collect from same place at 10.30am Sunday.
Cost: €25 per child (includes campsite fees and food costs) / €40 if two siblings going.
Please pay at Beavers meeting before camp if possible.
Consent form: A consent form must be fully completed for the camp (click on link to download: Activities Consent Form
Wear: Neckerchief, old clothes and sturdy footwear
Packed lunch (for snack on Friday evening)
Sleeping bag and camping mat
Torch with new batteries
Warm night clothes
Raingear and warm jacket / fleece
Spare full change of clothes
Walking boots / wellies / strong runners
Plastic bag for wet gear
Cup, plate, bowl, knife, fork, spoon
Toothbrush / toiletries
Sun cream and after-sun cream
Video camera, mobile phones, games consoles, iPods, tablets, etc. are NOT allowed.
To be fair to all, sweets / treats / soft drinks, etc. are not allowed.
We will have some goodies for them.
If we see any child with electronics / sweets, etc., we will confiscate them and give them back when they are going on Sunday.
Personal concerns: Please feel free to contact any of the leaders to discuss any personal concerns in relation to this trip.
Pocket money: Not required (we will run our own tuck shop and give each child an allowance from the camp fee to spend in the tuck shop)
Medications: If your child requires any medication please talk to one of the leaders before the trip and fill out Scouting Ireland’s Managing Medication Form (Click on link to download form: Managing_Medications_Form)

On N4, drive past entrance Lough Key Forest Park on your left.
Continue approx. 750 metres, then turn left onto L5063.
Continue approx. 1.1km, turn left at t-junction.
Continue 160 metres, campsite entrance is on right hand side.
