Cubs : 2018 Annual Camp

The Annual Cubs Camp is taking place over two nights at Castle Saunderson  from Friday 08th June – Sunday 10th June

The cost of the camp is €60 per child.

Can parents please return a deposit of €20 to this Thursday Meeting (17th May) to secure your child’s place.

Parents must return a completed Activities Consent Form  along with te outstanding balance of €40 on Thurs 7th June.

Please find enclosed the Camp Kit list that your child will need for camp.

We ask parents to send no more than €5 spending money with their child

If your child requires any medication please talk to one of the leaders and fill out Scouting Ireland’s Managing Medication Form.

Pickup is at 16:30 on Friday June 08th  from Young Quarry Ballisodare and returning again to Young Quarry Ballisodare Sunday Afternoon  10th June  ( Time TBC).

Cubs : Just add Water : Castlebar

Many Thanks to the Mayo County Group for their hospitality in hosting us for their ‘Just Add Water’ Event last Sunday 29th April.

We had 22 Cubs in total. Taking part in a variety of events including Kayaking, SUPing, Water games , mini raft building , Pimping pirates , backwoods and aquaducting. having a absolute Ball in the process.

Consent Forms:
Bring your Activities Consent Form for each Cub, Scout, Venture attending. We will be asking for these at check-in.

Dress Code / Kit List:
The theme is Pirates of the Can O’ Beans and we would encourage Cubs and their Scouters to dress up. The dress code is casual and comfy.

  • Cubs should wear comfortable clothes
  • Neckerchief
  • Packed lunch
  • Towel
  • Change of cloths
  • Wetsuit (if you have one)
  • Spare socks
  • Rain jacket

Facilities for changing will be limited to tents so we will try to avoid getting the cubs too wet!!

  • 10:00am Registration
  • 10:30am Start of programme bases
  • 12:30pm Lunch
  • 1:00pm Resume programme bases
  • 4:00pm Finish up and award badges

 

Sample programme bases will include treasure island, mini raft races, stand up paddleboarding, learning about water safety and boats.
